Battalion Games Afternoon 2026
77 Anchor Boys and Staff, from all over Ayr Battalion, took part in their Annual Games Afternoon on Saturday 14th February 2026. Fun, games and action song were the ingredients for the afternoon.
The Boys enjoyed a variety of activities, Shoot The Hoop, Hockey Dribble Obstacle Course, Clothes Swap Dizzy Relay, Anchor Boys Beetle and Noughts & Crosses, Colouring In, Parachute Games, Hoop-La, Blindfold Skittles, Activity Corner and everyone's favourite the Tuck Shop!! This year we also included a Disco Bouncy Castle which was a huge success although the Leaders were disappointed not to get a shot on it!The Boys went home happy - and the Staff went home exhausted!! We also performed our action song 'Mr Noah built an ark' which was very entertaining.
Also, during the afternoon, certificates and the Trophy were presented to the boys in recognition of their participation in the Battalion Anchor Boys Colouring In Competition. Certificates for
Commended, Highly Commended and the top three were presented in front of the rest of the Battalion and parents.
The results were as follows:
Winner - Joseph Dunsmuir, 1st Prestwick
2nd - Freddie Johnstone, 17th Ayr
3rd - Theo Hill, 1st Troon

87 Anchor Boys and Staff, from all over Ayr Battalion, took part in their Annual Games Afternoon on Saturday 15th February 2025. Fun, games and action song were the ingredients for the afternoon.
The Boys enjoyed a variety of activities, Shoot The Hoop, Hockey Dribble Obstacle Course, Clothes Swap Dizzy Relay, Anchor Boys Beetle and Noughts & Crosses, Colouring In, Parachute Games, Hoop-La, Blindfold Skittles, Activity Corner and everyone's favourite the Tuck Shop!! The Boys went home happy - and the Staff went home exhausted!! We also performed our action song 'How did Moses cross the Red Sea' which was very entertaining.
After the fun and games, certificates and the Trophy were presented to the boys in recognition of their participation in the Battalion Anchor Boys Colouring In Competition. Certificates for
Commended, Highly Commended and the top three were presented in front of the rest of the Battalion and parents.
